Request Horry County Certified Copies

A certified copy is different from an online case result. The public index or portal may help locate a case number, party name, filing date, disposition, or docket entry, but certified copies must come from the proper court office. For Circuit and Family Court records, that is the Horry County Clerk of Court. For marriage certificates and probate estate files, use Probate Court instead.

The research did not locate a single universal Clerk records-request form for every case type, so the request field inventory uses the information the Clerk or division would need to route a copy request. More complete requests are easier to match, especially where party names repeat or a case has multiple plaintiffs, defendants, or family members.

Family Court requests need extra care because divorce, custody, support, adoption, juvenile, and financial material can have different access limits. Public online display does not mean every document in the file can be copied by any requester.

Horry County Clerk Access Channels

Public Index technology details matter. The official state search notes that cookies and JavaScript are required, and some browsers need pop-up exceptions for case details. Beginning January 1, 2026, home address information is no longer displayed on the public index for new and existing cases.

Horry County Clerk Local Details

Several Horry Clerk details are local enough to prevent a generic records request from going to the wrong place. Child support purge payments after a failure-to-pay child support hearing must be made at the Clerk payment window in cash, and the Clerk page notes that there is no ATM on premises. Minor settlement and death settlement hearings may be scheduled by emailing the Clerk's Office.

The Clerk links 2026 settlement hearing rosters for January through June and July through December. Those settlement hearings are held by WebEx on specific days, and court attire is required. The Attorney Services page also says Horry Common Pleas hearings and trials are conducted in person unless written approval for remote participation is obtained in advance from the presiding judge, tied to the South Carolina Supreme Court remote-technology order as amended February 19, 2025.

Register of Deeds Acclaim is separate.
