Why We Built This Site
South Carolina gives the public broad access to nonexempt public records through the Freedom of Information Act, while court records also follow Judicial Branch access rules and case-specific restrictions. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. Horry County Clerk of Court handles Circuit Court and Family Court records, Probate Court handles estates and marriage licenses, and the Sheriff's Office runs the J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking channel. Magistrate and Municipal Courts also matter for traffic, warrants, bond, and lower-level criminal cases.

- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
